Staff Qualifications

Practice Standards:

Referral / Non-clinical Services

We offer Referral/Non-clinical services from this surgery

Westmoor Veterinary Hospital offers Phacoemulsification as a treatment for cataracts in dogs and cats. This should allow better and quicker results for the patients. We can also offer second opinion referrals for most other ophthalmological problems including lid, corneal and intraocular surgery as well as medical cases. We are still one of the few practices that can certify dogs under the BVA/KC/ISDS inherited eye disease scheme. All surgery is carried out by Chris Warren, Chris is a well recognised and respected face in the veterinary ophthalmological arena. He sits on the panel for BVA/KC/ISDS and is one of only a handful of eye surgeons with the skills and certification to deal with really complex eye issues, this kind of experience only comes from 26 years of experience. Chris is always happy to talk to fellow vets about cases and advise on second opinion consultations and referrals for operations.

"PRA eye testing"

I am always in awe by an vet who goes the extra mile & Chris Warren has been practising in Tavistock many years, always specialising on eyes & is only one of a handful in the Westcountry, has the expertise, training, empathy & criteria to conform to KC & Practice PRA eye testing here in South West England. What people also do not know is he is very much in tune with your & is more at home with animals than with humans! I must say, I don't blame him He has always tested my dogs eyes with as little fuss as necessary & I have no hesitation in recommending Chris PRA test amongst a necessary part of checking that your dogs' eyes are healthly, especially important for breeding-you do need to produce the PRA pass certificate to all potential owners. The Sh.Ch.Pazazz Show Team, now all retired & enjoying life.
